Summertime Foods

With Memorial Day Weekend coming up, summer will officially be under way. It has already been so hot in So Cal lately, that I already feel that summer is here.
This is the time for the beach, weekend get-a-ways and of course BBQ's! I found some recipes on Food Network that I would like to try this summer. Enjoy!

Weekend in Photos

It seemed that my whole weekend was all about food, but I can't complain. Happy Sunday!

Workout Plan

I found this great workout plan that I'm going to start doing to keep me fit and healthy during my pregnancy. And I'm going to make my husband work out with me.
Since our wedding this past September, we haven't really focused on working out. I guess all the stress and working out before hand caught up to us and we got a little lazy. Now that I'm pregnant, there should be no excuses for not taking care of myself. It's not just me anymore.

I found this workout plan here. And it looks fairly easy, and won't take long. It's perfect for someone like me who has a busy schedule with work.

I want to keep researching and find some more easy workouts that I can do especially water workouts to do since summer is right around the corner.

Week by Week

I wanted to start giving picture updates as the weeks progress and Baby Brey starts to show!

I wanted to be creative with my baby bump pictures and to share with everyone. I haven't taken a weekly picture of my belly yet and I haven't made the chalkboard (that I've seen on Pinterest a million times) that I wanted to write the week and the size of the baby on to hold when I take my pictures.

This week I hit 9 weeks! I have my next doctors appointment this week and I am trying to get ready for it and think of any questions that I have (which I know I will probably have a bunch by time my appointment comes around).

I just can't wait for my first ultrasound! I need to see this life growing inside me with my own eyes. It's still a shock to me that I'm pregnant (believe it or not) and I just want that proof that everything is fine and baby is healthy.

My first Mother's Day gift from my husband

Happy Mother's Day

Mom, Me, Grandma, Sister

I wouldn't be where I am today without all the women in my life. My mother has given me so much during my life to help me become the person that I am. Between the ballet classes to karate classes to traveling for my ice skating competitions to moving me across the country to planning my wedding; she has done it all for me. Since I am the oldest of three, I sometimes expected more from my mother (I acted like an only child to get my way, what a brat) but in the end I knew she always had all of our best interests at heart.

This Mother's Day is probably the most meaningful to me to date. It is my first Mother's Day as a mommy-to-be and I couldn't be happier. As scared as I am for this next phase in my life, I know that I have my mother along for the ride with me. She has helped me get through every milestone in my life so far and I hope that even with 3,000 miles between us, she can help me get through this as well.

I think that receiving a Mother's Day gift from your own mother is something symbolic, like passing the torch. I do admit, I was a little teary eyed when I opened up this gift I received in the mail from my mom. It showed me that no matter what has happened, my mother will always be there for me and I couldn't be anymore grateful for that.

I know that I have many months to go before I get to hold my child for the first time, however I know that I still have my mom to get me ready and prepared for what is to come as being a mother myself.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, the men that have to be mom and dad, and to all the mommies-to-be.

First Trimester Blues

I have been having the worse past couple of days this week. I can barely eat or even think about eating without becoming completely nauseous. Sometimes water even makes me feel gross. I'm actually nauseous 24/7 when I think of it. My doctor gave me a prescription to try to help, but even with it I still feel like if I eat I would get sick.

Everyone keeps telling me that it will go away once I hit my second trimester, and I am praying that it's true. I'm so uncomfortable at work and at home. I hate this constant sick feeling.

I've been trying to research tips to help the sick feeling to go away, but it seems no one can really give a good answer.
I do go on thebump.com frequently, since I find that they have really good tips for anything pregnancy, and I found a Q&A about morning sickness here. These are just basic little tips that even my doctor told me about. I just wish there was more I could do to prevent this feeling.

I just need to keep up with drinking lots of fluids and hope that this doesn't last my whole pregnancy.
