Fall Fashion Essentials

one.2.three.4.five.6.seven.8.nine.10.eleven.12.thirteen

I know it's still August, however I CANNOT wait for fall clothing and weather. The one thing I miss about living on the East Coast are the seasons, fall being my favorite. September is still really hot here in California (Indian summer), but we start to cool down at night and towards the end of September (hopefully). All I can say is I am so ready to put away the flip flops and start wearing boots and flats. Since I'm already 23 weeks pregnant (and counting) I am going to have to get a few fall essentials to get me through until December. I'm actually happy that living in California we still get days that are warmer and I can get away with wearing my summer clothes. I started searching the web and kept my search narrow. I was looking for affordable brands that won't break the bank too much. I am soooo in love with the fact that we can now shop online at H&M. I was so surprised that I actually like a lot of their maternity clothes, and they focus on the basics! I did also find some things on Gap's site as well but I'm not sure what sizes I would be there. I already have the maternity jeans from H&M and I LOVEEEE them! I think I might by one more pair to get me through fall.

When I was looking for clothes, it's only normal to start always looking for accessories. I found this clutch on Shopbop and I really can't afford to be buying myself things extra since we need to save for baby, so I decided that this will be my next DIY project. I already have a bunch of leather fabric just waiting to be sewn into something. I might as well make myself a fun clutch!!

I might do a couple of more posts about fall fashion once labor passes and the fall weather hopefully starts to make its way to California. I hope that I can show that even pregnant women can have fun with fashion.

22 Weeks

I didn't get a chance to do a 21 week update last week, it was just such a very busy week and before I knew it I hit 22! This pregnancy is flying by so quickly, I can't believe I'm already 5 months!! I've decided to start just doing a weekly update every two weeks for now until it gets closer to when baby boy comes..

My 21 week check up last week with my doctor was good (considering the week before I was at the ER) The results from my blood work and ultrasound came back and my doctor went over it all with me and everything is looking good. My doctor did point out that my placenta is sitting low, at about 2cm away from my cervix, he said it was nothing to worry about now since it is still early and my uterus hasn't fully grown out yet. They will have me go for another ultrasound at around 28 weeks to check and make sure it moves up.

Week 22 has been great. I can feel his kicks and they are very strong. I don't mistake them for gas anymore haha. It is just the most amazing feeling in the world and the hardest to describe to someone who hasn't been pregnant yet. (I just felt one right now) Work has started to get really busy again, and I'm trying my best to keep myself stress free and not work long hours. The only thing my husband and I really need to start agreeing on is a name for our little guy. And now that I've been pregnant for so long I'm really starting to miss a lot of things that I had to cut out (like iced coffee ughhhh I'm dying for coffee!!) and it's starting to bug me a little, however I know it's all worth it in the end.

Weekend in Photos

Our weekend was pretty relaxed, we didn't do anything too crazy besides me going to the beach on Saturday and my husband and I catching up on all our TV shows. (True Blood season finale was tonight, yay!) I had a pretty busy week and wasn't able to post anything else. I'm really going to start trying to get more about my whole experience on the blog. Posts about all my baby planning will be coming soon!! Here's just a few photos from our not so exciting weekend.

I would just love to live by the beach. Santa Monica is such a great area and the beach is amazing. This made my Saturday.

I wore my bump proud (with no belly ring :( so sad) and got some sun for the first time this whole summer at Santa Monica beach with a good friend of mine (post to follow)

Tank is tall enough to reach the window and look out. He was waiting for my husband to come home from the grocery store.

Out on our family walk we do every Sunday night around the neighborhood. Tank made a new friend along the way.

The moon coming out when we were getting back from our walk. It looked a lot brighter than in the photo.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! xo

Weekend in Photos

This past weekend was actually VERY exhausting. I was planning on just relaxing and not really going out however, it seemed like the whole weekend was spent outside. I'm not complaining, I just was not prepared.

We spent Saturday afternoon at the park with Tank and he loved every moment of it. He got a little crazy when he saw some young boys throwing around a baseball (which became our sign to leave)

I also had the biggest craving for frozen yogurt and I probably got the largest size the had (this has been my pregnancy craving all summer)

I went down to Orange County on Sunday to visit my aunt and to pick up some baby clothes and maternity clothes that my cousin gave me to look through. We ended up going down to Corona Del Mar Beach to start looking for locations where I want to take my maternity photos.
It was so relaxing to be able to put my toes in the sand and walk along the water. I just could not get over all the beautiful houses along the beach (ahh one day) and all the scenery made this beach a great option for the maternity photo shoot. Seeing this view, who wouldn't want to be on the west coast?

Overall it was a good weekend, I got as much rest as I could and I am just trying to enjoy this pregnancy as much as I can. Baby boy has been very active and I actually felt him kick my hand Sunday night. It was the greatest moment.

Hope everyone has a good week! xo

Ready For Some Football

It's August and you know what that means... Football's back!
We are a San Francisco 49ers household and very excited that preseason is underway. I have been searching the internet like crazy for cute gear for baby boy, and of course he will become a 49ers fan (because daddy said so).
We have already started getting some stuff for baby boy. We found these adorable bibs on Etsy that we just could not say no to and I can't wait until baby boy is wearing these on Sundays. Since our little man won't be arriving until December (and it will be during Playoffs) we are buying sizes bigger that will fit him for next season. I made up a collection of what I think every little football fan should start off with regardless of their team.

The start of baby boy's collection that my friend sent to us this past week that the dog has already got his paws on (almost had a heart attack seeing the booties in Tank's mouth)

Hope all you other football fans enjoy your weekend of pre-season games! xo

DIY: Framed Chalkboard

Since I started my blog, I've been trying to find the time to get my framed chalkboard done. I finally pushed my husband to help me do it so I could finally have it done and hung up. I always thought it would take me a lot longer to make this, but it was actually really easy. (besides waiting for paint to dry)

I found this frame at the local Goodwill for 10 dollars and it was in really good shape. I cleaned off all the dust and dirt and laid it outside to get spray painted.

I covered up the glass with regular computer paper and it did the trick. (I made sure to tape down the paper to each other and onto the actually glass of the frame to make sure that it wouldn't move while it was being sprayed.)

Since I'm obviously pregnant, I made my husband go outside and do the spray painting for me. (I picked white since I wasn't sure where I was going to hang the frame, so I decided to go neutral.)
I had him do 3 coats to make sure none of the brown would show through.

We let it dry outside for 30 mins so I wouldn't breathe in any of the fumes before we brought it inside to finish drying and get ready to paint with the chalkboard paint.

I used Martha Stewart chalkboard paint that I found at Michael's, however you could use any type of chalkboard paint. I just really like this brand of paint for crafts. I did two coats of paint and let dry 24 hours before removing the tape around the frame.

After removing the tape, I had to do some touch ups around the frame that I missed or was pulled off by the tape, and then let that dry before I hung on the wall.

This lovely frame is now in our kitchen so we can write messages to each other and count down til baby gets here!

20 Weeks

This past week has been pretty crazy. I have had a stressful work week, stressful personal matters, and that all lead to a late night ER visit. I was having pains late afternoon on Thursday and they just continually got worse as the night went on. I waited for my husband to get home and we decided it was best to go to the hospital just to make sure everything was fine. They wanted to make sure that I wasn't have contractions and that the baby was fine. They monitored me and gave me medicine to make my muscles in my stomach to calm down. I was able to go home around 1 am and I stayed home from work on Friday to give my body a rest. Baby just wanted to let mommy know that he was there.

The best highlight of the week was that I finally felt baby boy moving around. It's the most amazing feeling in the world, knowing that there is life growing inside of you. I honestly didn't know it was him moving around until I was at the hospital and I heard the baby moving around when they had me hooked up the monitors and I felt it at the same time.

I will definitely be making sure to take care of myself and to not get myself stressed out as much. I gotta make sure that little man is growing healthy because he is all that matters now.
